Biodiesel Production over Niobium-Containing Catalysts: A Review

نویسندگان

چکیده

Nowadays, the synthesis of biofuels from renewable raw materials is very popular. Among various challenges involved in improving these processes, environmentally benign catalysts compatible with an inexpensive feedstock have become more important. Herein, we report recent advances achieved development Niobium-containing heterogeneous as well their use routes to produce biodiesel. The efficiency different Niobium esterification and transesterification reactions lipids oleaginous was evaluated, considering effect main reaction parameters such temperature, time, catalyst load, oil:alcohol molar ratio on biodiesel yield. catalytic performance compounds discussed characterization data obtained by techniques, including NH3-TPD, BET, Pyr-FT-IR analysis. high activity attributed its inherent properties, active sites distribution over a specific surface area, strength acidity, nature, amount acidic sites, mesoporosity. On top this, recycling experiments proven that most are stable can be repeatedly used consistent activity.

Biodiesel Production with Solid Catalysts

Biodiesel is usually produced by transesterification of vegetable oils or animal fats with chemical catalysts, especially in the presence of strong acidic or basic solutions, such as hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid, sodium hydroxide, sodium methoxide and potassium hydroxide. Homogeneous alkali catalysts can convert triglycerides to their corresponding fatty acid methyl esters (FAMEs) with hig...

Biodiesel production using solid metal oxide catalysts

Biodiesel production is worthy of continued study and optimization of production procedures due to its environmentally beneficial attributes and its renewable nature. Heterogeneous transesterification is considered to be a green process. The process requires neither catalyst recovery nor aqueous treatment steps and very high yields of methyl esters can be obtained, close to the theoretical valu...

Process Optimization of Biodiesel Production Using Alkaline Catalysts

The most commonly used method for biodiesel preparation is via transesterification of vegetable oil using alkaline catalysts. Biodiesel yield and oil conversion are affected by operating conditions including the catalyst formulation and concentration. Application of alkaline catalysts can also lead to undesired soap formation. This study evaluated the alkaline catalyst effects on biodiesel yiel...

Molecular Design of Supported Niobium Oxide Catalysts

The current investigation demonstrates that it is possible to molecularly design supported niobium oxide catalysts with the assistance of molecular characterization methods such as Raman spectroscopy. The formation and location of the surface niobium oxide species are controlled by the surface hydroxyl chemistry, and the surface niobium oxide species are located in the outermost layer of the ca...
